Greenock Creek Casey's Block Shiraz Santenay AOC and toasty yeast leesIn 2010, cuttings from the Alices, Apricot, Seven Acre, and Roennfeldt Road vineyards were used to establish the vineyard. Red clay and thick loam make up the soils. Since the clay is heavier than other Shiraz blocks, it takes longer for the fruit to mature, allowing us to leave it on the vine longer. This imparts a pleasing solidity to the wine that pairs well with the loam's rich fruit flavour of blackcurrants and cherries and its smooth tannins.
