But terrific! It tells a clear story about a returning soldier with a most ambiguous ending: is the wife dead, or did she just faint? You decide what you want to it to be with this wonderful vintage retro pulp paperback cover showing a gumshoe and an unconscious dead woman at his crouched feat. I'm happy to
