Turning on the large neon sign with hundreds of light bulbs forming the name "2nd New YOKOSUKA" became my routine every evening during the exhibition

私は、自らの意図的な制御を越えた、メカニカルなやり方でイメージを創り出すことを追求したのであり、そこでは、偶然性が世界を体験する方法となっていた。

どんな状況であってもふと見た光景に胸が高鳴ることがあります。それは街中で、車窓越しに、家庭の中で、講演会の最中にと様々な日常の中でふと現れます。その光景は自分の心をポジティブにさせる何かの力を持っていて、自分の心が共振し吸い寄せられます。しかし、こうした光景は次の瞬間に風に吹かれて消え去って二度と同じものは現れません。私の場合それらを撮り残すことで、被写体が発散しているポジティブな波動を写真上に蓄電し、やがてその写真が他の人の心に共振し、社会や人の心が少しでもポジティブになればと願います。

今回は、突然マークが指定した子供の目の高さに並べられた絵の配置を変えたり、仲間のアーティスト、スーザン・チャンチオロとの切り絵ワークショップで、セル画のフレームが1、2枚、あるいはもっともらえることになったり…。
